COLLEGE GameDay icon Lee Corso put his elite football knowledge on display in Week 1.

The veteran sportscaster correctly predicted that Vanderbilt would upset Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Corso, 89, sensed the Commodores’ 34-27 overtime victory coming as the only College GameDay panelist.

He made the call after picking Notre Dame to beat Texas A&M – again, as the only panelist on the set.

The Fighting Irish ended up taking a 23-13 win on the road.

College football fans gave Corso his flowers after the results were in.

“Coach Lee Corso STILL knows ball,” one posted on X .

“Lee Corso’s still got it,” another wrote.

“He might have some physical issues these days, but the man still knows ball,” a third said.

“Lee Corso only ball knower. Need to cherish our elders,” one added.

Corso made his Notre Dame-A&M prediction in style, dancing in a full leprechaun outfit, a nod to the Fighting Irish’s mascot.

As he showed off his Riverdance moves, host Rece Davis asked Alabama legend Nick Saban – who joined the crew this season – about his thoughts on being part of the show.

“We told you it’d be different once you got here, didn’t we, Nick?” Davis asked.

And Saban said he’s been having a blast.

“You know I never knew any of this. I never experienced any of this,” the former Alabama coach said as a shirtless Pat McAfee gave him a hug.

“I’ve never been to anything like this.

    College football's 2024 shake-up

Oklahoma and Texas switching from the Big 12 to the SEC is one of the biggest changes to college football in recent times.

And that has set off a chain reaction which has left the Pac-12 conference decimated.

The Pac-12 has lost 10 of its 12 members and is down to just Oregon State and Washington State.

Four of those teams are headed for the Big 12 – Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.

Another four are going to the Big 10 – Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.

And the other two teams, California and Stanford, will join the ACC conference.

No teams have left the SEC, Big Ten or ACC.

    “This is so much fun.”

Vanderbilt pulled off the major upset after seeing its early 17-0 lead disappear.

Virginia Tech went 27-10 in the remaining of regulation before Commodores running back Diego Pavia secured the win for the home side with an overtime touchdown.

It marked coach Clark Lea’s first victory since taking over at his alma mater this year.

“As far as the game goes, look that was the full catastrophe,” Lea said of Vanderbilt’s dramatic triumph.

“I mean, it had everything that you could ever want as a coach and some that you don’t want.

“But, I don’t know that the script could be written differently for our program.”
