BOSTON College humiliated Florida State in Monday’s 28-13 win — so much so the Eagles gave up on scoring with plenty of time left.

The Seminoles , the 10th-ranked college football team in the country, took a second straight loss to start the season.

And it was a painful one, coming against a team that had not won against a top-10 opponent in a decade.

BC claimed victory to start the Bill O’Brien era. In 2023, he took charge of the team after serving as the New England Patriots offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach .

O’Brien took Patriots tight ends coach Will Lawing with him, making him the Eagles offensive coordinator.

The duo showed their pro experience at the last minute of the win over FSU.

BC had a chance to add to the lead with 1:55 left on the clock on 1st and goal at the Seminoles’ eight-yard line.

Instead, they sent the victory formation in to run down the clock.

“It’s an NFL coaching staff,” ESPN’s Bob Wischusen said on the broadcast.

“And they’re taking the NFL approach.

“A lot of times, college football teams would look to put their second, third, fourth-stringers in there had the score.

“But NFL coaching staffs, they come from the world of just win the game.”

Color analyst Louis Riddick thought the scene just emphasized how much of a disaster the loss was for FSU.

“In some ways, it’s worse if I was Florida State,” Riddick said.

“‘So you’re showing us mercy, huh?’

“If that is not an exclamation point on this game, I don’t know what is – ‘We don’t need to score. We could. But guess, what look up at that scoreboard.'”

    Fans loved Riddick’s observation.

“That was an excellent call tonight!” one commented on X.

    “Louis is great,” another added.

“This is [FSU’s] punishment for their ridiculous claims about last season,” a third said.

BC dominated FSU on the ground, registering 263 rushing yards while allowing just 21.

Seminoles quarterback DJ Uiagalelei put up another disappointing performance , completing just 50% of his 42 pass attempts for 272 yards.

Crucially, the ex- Oregon State and Clemson star threw a costly interception in the second half that the Eagles quickly turned into another touchdown, taking a 21-6 lead.
