NEW England Patriots icon Rob Ninkovich has made his feelings about Mac Jones perfectly clear after the quarterback’s failed stint in Foxboro.

The two-time Super Bowl champion said he would be happy to “smack the s**t out of” Jones if he had to — before making a brutal impression of the former Patriots signal-caller.

Ninkovich, 40, went on a tirade about Jones , 25, on The Dan and Ninko Show, which the ex-NFL linebacker and defensive end fronts with car dealership owner Dan O’Brien.

Ninkovich first suggested there’s mutual animosity between Jones and the show’s hosts.

In response, O’Brien emphasized the now-Jacksonville Jaguars backup QB’s dislike for Ninkovich.

    “I don’t give a f**k… I’ll smack the s**t out of f***ing Mac Jones…” Ninkovich responded.

“I don’t care… Do you care if somebody doesn’t like you?

“Exactly. F**k em’. I hope he has a great career — as a backup. Makes a ton of money.”

Ninkovich then emphasized the difference in demeanor between Jones and Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye .

The Pats legend said he wanted Jones to show more character in addition to being a “nice guy.”

He hammered his point home by doing a mocking expression of the 2021 first-round NFL pick.

“Yeah, I know. I just need to keep working,” Niknovich said with a timid voice while pretending to be Jones.

“Gotta get better. I’m just gonna keep working hard. Yeah, everybody together.

“Yeah, it wasn’t my best. I gotta be better.”

The Patriots traded Jones to the Jaguars in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round draft pick back in March.

In three seasons with New England, he logged 1,308 passing yards, 46 touchdowns, and 36 interceptions over 42 regular-season games.

    August 27 – Deadline for 53-man rosters

    September 1 – Final day of pre-season

    November 5 – Trade deadline

    January 5 – Week 18 of regular-season

During that time, the team made just one playoff appearance, which ended up in a 47-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

Maye is set to be the Patriots’ new franchise quarterback after they selected him at No. 3 overall in this year’s draft.

But the North Carolina product won’t be handed the keys to the team’s offense just yet.

Head coach Jerod Mayo has named NFL veteran Jacoby Brissett as New England’s starting quarterback for the Week 1 clash against the Cincinnati Bengals .

“We have decided – or I have decided – that Jacoby Brissett will be our starting quarterback this season,” Mayo said during a press conference last week.

“As an organization, we’re 100 percent behind Jacoby.”
