NBC star Rodney Harrison’s take on Xavier Worthy comes back to bite him as electric Chiefs rookie scores epic touchdown

NBC analyst Rodney Harrison’s take didn’t age well concerning Kansas City Chiefs rookie Xavier Worthy.

The 2024 Chiefs first-round pick Worthy scored an electrifying touchdown in the NFL season-opener against the road team Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football .

Before the game, NBC displayed the broadcast team of Jac Collinsworth, Tony Dungy, and Rodney Harrison due to thunderstorms and lightning at the Chiefs game.

The trio was on live television on the Brazil field where the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers will play on Friday’s exclusive NFL broadcast on Peacock.

While analyzing the Chiefs-Ravens game, Harrison, who’s known for being outspoken, called out the abilities of Worthy ahead of the Week 1 game.

“Xavier Worthy is this little skinny guy, he doesn’t scare me,” Harrison said in the pregame show.

“I know he is fast, but he doesn’t scare me.”

Harrison’s opinion wouldn’t age well from the get-go of the NFL game.

On the Chiefs’ first drive, the Chiefs utilized Worthy on a jet sweep on a first-and-10 play on the 35-yard-line.

And the Texas product showed off his speed to go past defenders and score his very first touchdown.

Fans immediately rushed to mock the New England Patriots legend Harrison’s opinion on Harrison.

“He always has horrible takes,” one wrote.

“Take aged poorly in 20 minutes,” a second added.

“Harrison is already in mid-season form,” a third posted.

“Nothing new for Harrison putting his foot in his mouth,” a fourth added.

The Chiefs drafted Worthy in the first round, but they needed to trade for him.

The Chiefs gave Buffalo the No. 32 overall pick as well as a fourth-round and seventh-round pick for a No. 28 pick, a fourth-rounder, and a seventh-rounder.
