BILL Belichick has had some sobering words for No 1 draft pick Caleb Williams, saying his throwing wasn’t impressive in preseason.

Williams was selected first by the Chicago Bears in this year’s NFL Draft .

Legendary former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was talking about Williams and what he saw from him in preseason on Inside the NFL.

“Well, he wasn’t accurate, he was 10-for-20,” Belichick said.

“There were a couple of highlight plays, but they weren’t that good.”

Reaction was swift to come in to those words on X.

“This sums up the difference between the media and coaching world,” one fan said.

“Bill didn’t get the memo that said to coronate this kid as an MVP without him taking a snap in a regular season game,” another fan said.

“It’s amazing how you need Bill Belichick to tell a bunch of ex players who now get paid to analyze football that in fact 10-20 is not accurate,” a third fan posted.

“Bill is just going to say it how it is this season, and so he should,” a fourth fan wrote.

Belichick’s career in coaching is the stuff of folklore.

His incredible quarter century with the New England Patriots included six Super Bowl victories.

In all, he led the Patriots to the sport’s biggest game on nine occasions.

But he found life harder work when quarterback icon Tom Brady departed.

And Belichick left the Patriots at the start of this year.

He will spend the 2024 season fulfilling a number of media obligations.

In fact, Belichick currently has eight roles he’ll be fulfilling in the 2024 season.

You can also keep up to date with the latest NFL coverage right here at The U.S. Sun.

Those will include appearing on the ManningCast with brothers Peyton and Eli Manning during the first half of games.

He will be on a weekly ESPN show with Peyton Manning every Friday, called The Breakdown, to preview Monday Night Football matchups.

Among his other roles will be guesting once a week on the Pat McAfee Show.

And he will also have his own podcast, Coach with Bill Belichick.

As for Williams, he’ll look to hit the ground running when the Bears begin their regular season campaign against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
