    Rodeo meets Koe Wetzel concert at this unusual Intrust Bank Arena event

    It’ll be a very musical weekend in Wichita, whose entertainment venues will be filled with concerts and performances. One is an unusual event scheduled for Saturday at Intrust Bank Arena that will be part rodeo and part concert starring a well-known country singer.

    Here’s a look at some of the fun — and melodic — events happening in and around Wichita this weekend and into next week.

    Concert and a rodeo

    7 p.m. Saturday, Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman

    Country concert meets rodeo at a unique event scheduled for Saturday night at Intrust Bank Arena. Titled Bulls, Bands, and Barrels, the event will not only feature a concert by country star Koe Wetzel (“Sweet Dreams,” “Creeps,” ) but it will also include elite bull riders, barrel racing and bullfighting. The concert by Wetzel will close the show and will include opening acts Kolby Cooper and Kenny Fielder. The event starts at 7 p.m., and doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $42-$166 at www.selectaseat.com , by phone at 316-755-7328 or in person at the Select-a-Seat box office inside Intrust Bank Arena.

    Flea Market weekend

    9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Wichita Sports Forum, 2669 N. Greenwich Ct.

    It’s Wichita Flea Market weekend again, and this month, it’ll be at the Wichita Sports Forum. The market will feature 200 booths offering things like antiques, crafts, collectibles, comics, artwork, jewelry, toys and more. It’s from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. A one-day pass at the door is $3, and a two-day pass is $5. Children 12 and under get in free.

    Dwight Yoakam in Park City

    7 p.m. Thursday, Park City Arena, 8151 N. Hartman Arena Drive

    Country singer and actor Dwight Yoakam, known for movies such as “Sling Blade” and songs such as “Guitars, Cadillacs,” will perform at Wichita’s Park City Arena on Thursday, and he’ll be joined on the bill by another recognizable band: The Mavericks of “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down” fame. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. at Park City Arena, formerly known as Hartman Arena. Tickets are $46-$146 at ticketmaster.com

    Final KEYN summer concert

    8 p.m. Friday, Naftzger Park, 601 E. Douglas

    Summer is coming to an end, and so is the free KEYN Summer Concert Series, which has been happening most Fridays since June. The final concert of this year’s series happens on Friday at Naftzger Park in downtown Wichita and will feature a performance by The Roadhouse Saints, a Wichita band that plays classic rock cover songs. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and lasts for two hours. Admission is free. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

    Concerts at the Corner

    7 p.m. Thursday, Mark Arts, 1307 N. Rock Road

    Concerts at the Corner is a three-week concert series by Mark Arts and starts on Thursday with Sage Judd, a local jazz keyboardist. The show starts at 7 p.m. and will be set up next to Mark Arts’ outdoor sculpture garden. Mi Sueno will be there selling food, and the Xclusive mobile bar also will be there. The event will include activities for kids, too. The next concert will be by Keo & Them on Aug 29, and the series will wrap up with the Josue Estrada Band on Sept. 5. Tickets to the concerts are $3 for Mark Arts members and $5 for members of the public at markartsks.com/public-programming/

    Interactive ‘Wedding Singer

    Thursday-Aug. 24, Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean

    If you love the 1998 movie “The Wedding Singer,” starring Adam Sandler, you’ll likely love the Interactive Dome Experience that Wichita’s Exploration Place is offering later this week. Each night from Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 24, Exploration Place will show the movie at the Dome Theater and encourage audience members to sing along and interact with the film using a provided bag of props. It all starts with a 1980s-themed party with make-and-take activities, games and a cash bar. The activities start each night at 6 p.m., and the movie starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 or $18 for members at exploration.org/event/the-wedding-singer/
