The polls have closed, the results are in, and several questions have been answered following Tuesday’s Kentucky Primary Election.

Perhaps most notably, it’s now known that Randy Cravens will represent the Democratic Party in a November race to determine who will serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from Kentucky’s 6th District.

Republican Andy Barr currently holds the seat.

Cravens, who has worked in the information technology business, finished first by a mere 201 votes (9,305) against Todd Kelly (9,104) in a field that also included Shauna Rudd, Jonathan Richardson, and Don B. Pratt.

With 8.627 votes, Rudd finished less than 1,000 votes behind Cravens.

While Cravens won the statewide race, he finished in second place to Kelly among Clark County voters, who chose in favor of Kelly by a 355 to 293 margin,

As expected, incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump, won their primary races to determine November’s presidential matchup, which will feature the two candidates from the 2020 election.

In Clark County, Biden received 865 votes, while “UNCOMMITTED” finished in second place with 241 votes.

Marianne Williamson and Dean Phillips also received votes.

Trump received 1,286 votes, while Nikki Haley finished second with 91 in a field that also included Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, Ryan L. Binkley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and “UNCOMMITTED.”

Of 3,490,967 registered voters statewide, 443,457 ballots were cast, equaling a 12.71% voter turnout.

Of 29,553 voters countywide, 2,762 ballots were cast, equaling a 9.35% voter turnout.
