Respectfully in their social media announcement, Aerosmith announced to Alabamians the reasoning behind their sudden decision to cancel the 'Peace Out' tour and retire: Steven Tyler's vocal abilities have been compromised due to an injury.

As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from the touring stage.

The post concluded with Aerosmith expressing gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with dedicated professionals over the years and for the unwavering support of devoted fans.

We are grateful beyond words for everyone who was pumped to get on the road with us one last time. Grateful to our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who’ve made our historic runs possible. A final thank you to you - the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream On. You’ve made our dreams come true.

    Aerosmith's Connection to Alabama

According to Wikipedia, Aerosmith member Buck Johnson was born in Birmingham and is a versatile musician, keyboardist, background vocalist, and acoustic guitarist. He has performed with iconic bands and artists such as Aerosmith, Hollywood Vampires, and Whiskey Falls.

Johnson's musical journey began with gospel music in his hometown and later flourished in Nashville and Los Angeles, where he collaborated with singers and producers. He has contributed to various albums, including co-writing "Just Feel Better" for Carlos Santana and Steven Tyler.

In 2017, Johnson spoke with Alabama Media and stated Tyler reached out to him from a "No Caller ID" number not knowing whose voice he would hear on the other end once he answered. Tyler contacted Johnson because the band's previous touring keyboardist and backing singer couldn't join the European leg of Aerosmith's "Global Warming Tour" at the last minute. A mutual friend, Marti Frederiksen, who co-wrote Aerosmith's 2000 hit "Jaded," recommended Johnson for the position. Frederiksen had sent Tyler clips of Johnson performing Led Zeppelin songs with Black Jacket Symphony, a Birmingham ensemble known for live performances of classic albums, showcasing Johnson's versatility and talent.

On Johnson's website, he credits his Alabama roots with helping him create a "Cala-Bama" sound that helps him stand out from others.

Throughout his career, Johnson "has also had numerous songs featured on television and in films as a composer, producer, and performer, including the song "You Came Along" featuring Billy Ray Cyrus on vocals for the Lifetime movie Flying By, “Working Man” by Whiskey Falls for the ABC TV show Extreme Makeover-Home Edition, and "Fast Talking Lover" by Whiskey Falls for the ABC TV show Nashville."

On Johnson's Instagram, he mentioned how grateful he was to have worked with Aerosmith and that working with the group was a dream that came true.
