Gabby Thomas had an outstanding performance during the 2024 Olympics, winning the women’s 200-meter final on August 6 with a time of 21.83. She also contributed to the U.S. women’s 4x100-meter relay team’s victory on August 9, where they secured first place with a season-best time of 41.78. Additionally, Thomas was part of the American quartet that dominated the women’s 4x400-meter relay, winning gold with a new American record time of 3:15.27graduate.

Gabby's Connections to Alabama

WKRG News recently shared that Gabby's grandfather, Stanley King, lives in Alabama and is a pastor at New Hope Baptist Church on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile. He is also a graduate of B.C. Rain High School.

Throughout Gabby's athletic career, King has been a long-time supporter.

He said his granddaughter was very active in the church and was always destined for sports and is extremely proud that her hard work has brought her to the 2024 Olympics.

King said, "Most of her school years, she was a soccer player, and then she was convinced to get on the track team, you know, and she excelled in Massachusetts."

During the interview, King expressed that Gabby's long-term aspiration is to establish a medical clinic, emphasizing his unwavering support for his granddaughter's ambitions and offering her his heartfelt blessings for a prosperous future.
