BOLO: Alabama Man Being Sought by Authorities for Felony SORNA Violation

Yes, random conversations are harmless. However, being cautious of the person you're conversing with can sometimes be a lifesaver, especially if you manage to run into someone like Matthew Ryan Etheredge, a 39-year-old male who stands 5'9" and weighs 150 pounds.

Since March 8, 2024, Etheredge has been "wanted in Jefferson County on a felony warrant charging him with Probation Revocation For Violation Of Sex Offender Registration Act," according to a social media post by Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama.

Is Matthew Etheredge a Possible Repeat Offender? According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Sex Offender Registry, Etheredge's name did not populate in the state's registry. Within a one mile radius of his last known address lives another registered offender, Christopher Myers.

Upon further research, I located a 2022 mugshot of Etheredge for giving false information to authorities and for failing to have his SORNA ID card in his possession, according to Busted Newspaper. Months later in March 2023, online records show that Etheredge was arrested while on the University of Alabama in Birmingham's (UAB) campus for probation violation, failure to appear in court, and he once again did not have his SORNA ID card on him.
