The Shallow Ford Foundation has announced that Emmy M. Corn has joined the foundation staff team as Chief Operations Officer.

Corn is a lifelong resident of East Bend with an MBA from Gardner Webb University and more than 15 years of experience in banking as manager and lender for First National Bank of PA in Yadkinville. She and her husband, Steven Corn, have one son, Landon. While supporting her husband in his role as a local minister, Corn also gives of her time and talents as a member of the Yadkinville Rotary Club and as coordinator of the annual Empty Bowls event for Yadkin Christian Ministries. She is also the co-founder of the NC DECA Friends and Alumni Association that supports high school career and technical education students with networking and scholarship opportunities.

Importantly, she knows the Foundation very well, having served on its board of directors and on various grant and scholarship committees for the past several years. Corn feels like she has been “called” into this new role.

Sandi Scannelli, President/CEO, Shallow Ford Foundation said, “The foundation has been blessed with wonderful growth in the number of programs serving organizations and residents of Yadkin County. Our capacity reached a point of needing more help, both in day-to-day operations and with our programs. We could not be more excited about working with Emmy. She brings every skill set we could hope for in this new key position, along with a shared passion for our work and a strong value for community. We are so grateful for her enthusiasm as we continue to grow.”

Corn can be reached at the foundation, emmy@shallowfordfoundation.org.
