If you need a quick meal option, snack, or appetizer, these Crescent Taco Rolls are just the thing to try! Flaky, buttery crescent rolls wrapped around taco seasoned ground beef and salsa that everyone will enjoy!

INGREDIENT NOTES FOR TACO STUFFED CRESCENT ROLLS

Here are some notes regarding the ingredients needed in this recipe.

    • Beef– you’ll need ground beef for this recipe, if desired, you can also use ground turkey or ground chicken.
    • Taco Seasoning– I love using homemade taco seasoning since you can control what is in it and it takes only a few minutes to make. If using store bought, any taco seasoning mix works.
    • Salsa– use your favorite salsa. Spicy, mild, chunky, smooth, it all works great.
    • Crescent Rolls– for this recipe, you will want to use two packages of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Any brand works, however, I have found that Pillsbury doesn’t rip apart as easily and is easier to work with.
    • Optional: taco toppings, see suggestions below.

HOW TO MAKE TACO CRESCENT ROLLS

    1. In a large skillet, cook meat until no longer pink.
    2. Drain fat and sprinkle in taco seasoning and salsa.
    3. Stir until all is combined.
    4. Unroll the crescent rolls and place about 3 tbsp. taco beef mixture onto wide part of crescent.
    5. Roll crescent dough until closed and meat is inside.
    6. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven, 375 degrees, for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
    7. Remove and serve crescent roll tacos with favorite topping of choice!!

    VARIATIONS AND ADD ON’S

Here are some great ways to make this recipe your own:

    • Add in half cup shredded cheese to the meat mixture. Shredded cheddar cheese or pepper jack are great options.
    • Stir in 4 ounces cream cheese to the meat mixture to make the filling a bit more creamier.
    • You can dip these crescents into guacamole, additional salsa, queso, sour cream, or taco sauce.
    • Some great topping ideas are diced tomatoes, avocado, black olives, jalapenos, hot sauce, onion, green onions, chopped cilantro, or lettuce.

    TIPS FOR SUCCESS

    • Cook the taco rolls on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet to make clean up a breeze.
    • Don’t over-cook the crescent rolls. Once golden brown, they are ready to remove.
    • To speed up cook time, you can cook these in the air fryer at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
    • Roll crescent roll dough tightly and ensure the meat is securely inside so it doesn’t spill out when cooking.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN THESE BE MADE AHEAD OF TIME?

Absolutely! If you want to save on time, make the meat mixture early and simply stuff the crescents when ready to put in the oven. You can also wrap them in the crescents and refrigerate, but that will add a few minutes to the cook time.

CAN I ADD MORE INGREDIENTS TO THE MEAT MIXTURE?

For sure! However, don’t add too many ingredients to where it becomes difficult to roll the bundles up. You can sauté some diced onions, peppers, jalapenos, etc. and include them in the mixture. Even black beans are a great addition!

WHAT TOPPINGS SHOULD I ADD TO THESE PRIOR TO SERVING?

Have fun with it! Anything goes! Black olives, lettuce, sour cream, salsa, more cheese, tomatoes, avocados, etc. The possibilities are endless!

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE ANY TACO SEASONING ON HAND?

No problem! Click HERE for a great “homemade” taco seasoning that is my go-to! I love being able to control the amounts of ingredients in my seasonings as well as the sodium levels! Same great taste!

CAN I MAKE THIS RECIPE VEGETARIAN?

Sure! Simply omit the meat and use a meat alternative such as Impossible meat, tofu, or soy chorizo.

HOW TO STORE AND REHEAT PILLSBURY TACO CRESCENT ROLLS

    • Once fully cooled, you can store leftovers in an airtight container or bag in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
    • To freeze, store in a freeze safe container up to 3 months. Allow to thaw before reheating.
    • To reheat: place leftovers in an air fryer at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes or the oven under the broiler for a few minutes. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning. Using the oven or air fryer crisps them back up versus microwaving them and them becoming soft and squishy.

    Exact Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground beef *or turkey
    • 1 package taco seasoning * or 3 tablespoon homemade (see recipe in post above)
    • 1/4 cup salsa
    • 8 oz Pillsbury crescents
