    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3mmCFb_0u3SSnLk00 Thief River Falls - Judith “Judy” Geatz, 84, of Thief River Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Judith Marie Horton was born November 25, 1939 in Crookston, the daughter of Raymond and Veronica (Noah) Horton. She was baptized and confirmed at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. Judy attended school in Crookston, graduating from the Cathedral High School and then attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. On December 30, 1958, Judy was united in marriage to Curtis Geatz at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. To this union six children were born, Steven, David, Mary, James, Constance and Robert. In late 1960 they moved to Canyonville, OR where they lived for a short time before moving to Cambridge. In 1966 the family moved to Thief River Falls, where they have continued to reside. Judy loved being home with her children while they were growing. She then worked various bookkeeping jobs in Thief River Falls. Her family and church were the focus of her life, along with following her children and grandchildren in all their activities. She loved cheering on her kids in their sports. The holidays were a very special time for Judy, as was spending time at their cabin at Union Lake with family and friends. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls and the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include children, Steve (Nora) Geatz of Crookston, David Geatz of Grygla, Mary (Gordy) Myklebust of Thief River Falls, Jim Geatz of Thief River Falls, Connie (Bruce) Folkedahl of Grand Forks, ND and Bob Geatz of Silver Bay; grandchildren, Jessica, Hunter, Tanner, Dustin, Ashley, Kelly (Eric), Jolene, Tyler, Veronica, and Sierra; many great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis in 2013; parents; and brother, Roger Horton. Visitation will begin at noon with the Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church or Hospice of the Red River Valley. Condolences may be sent at www.johnsonfuneralservice.com.
