    Spokane has recently received funding to address the issue of frequent encampments in the Division corridor.

    This funding has been designated to tackle the Division/Browne corridor from Sprague to I-90 as a priority encampment zone.

    Community Cleanup: Joint Efforts of Spokane and State Departments

    Collaborating with the Washington State Department of Transportation and the Washington State Department of Commerce, the City of Spokane has initiated clean-up efforts in the area.

    Outreach teams have already started their work in cleaning up garbage, addressing littering, and removing graffiti from the affected areas.

    Funding for Change: Mayor's Commitment to Combatting Encampments

    Mayor Lisa Brown emphasized the importance of having a clean, safe, and welcoming city. She stated that the city's administration is focused on implementing solutions that are effective, emphasizing the need for housing and treatment options in conjunction with clean-up and enforcement measures.

    With an allocation of approximately $4 million for this clean-up initiative, in addition to $2.5 million leftover from previous projects, the city is determined to make a significant impact in combating encampments in the area.
