Murfreesboro Restaurant Agrees to Pay $352K to Settle Allegations for Violating Disabilities Act
July 30, 2024 – United States Attorney Henry C. Leventis for the Middle District of Tennessee announced Tuesday that the United States has reached an agreement with Good Times Restaurants, Inc. to resolve allegations that it violated the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”). Good Times is alleged to have denied service to a group of children who use wheelchairs and their parents who were in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to attend a youth wheelchair basketball tournament. As part of the settlement, Good Times has agreed to pay eight families a sum of $34,000 each, and a civil penalty of $80,000, for a total settlement payment of $352,000.

Walker Hayes, Kylie Morgan and Zandi Holup will perform at Mental Health Initiative’s second annual “Healing Through Songs” on Sept. 10 at Nashville’s Riverside Revival. The acoustic songwriters round will be complemented by an online auction featuring unique experiences and memorabilia from Brad Paisley, HARDY, Weezer, Train and Green Day. Proceeds benefit MHI’s mission of helping individuals experiencing severe and recurring mental health challenges through three programs: financial assistance, education, and advocacy.

Metro Nashville Public Schools students recently collaborated to write and record an anthem for the school district, a district announcement said. According to the district, the song, “Every Student Known,” was recorded over the summer. The song made its official debut at an event on Music Row Thursday and is available for listening and viewing on streaming services, YouTube and the MNPS district website.

A multi-state car chase ended with the arrest of a Tennessee man after he led officers on a pursuit starting in Nashville and concluding in Kentucky. Dustin Duley, the 27-year-old suspect from Springfield, Tennessee, now faces numerous charges stemming from the incident, including first-degree fleeing/evading, receiving stolen property over $10,000 (auto), and being a fugitive from another state with active Tennessee warrants, as reported by WSMV.

College Grove Man Dies Following Multi-Vehicle I-65 Crash, Chapel Hill Driver Charged
The tragic aftermath of a crash on Interstate 65 has culminated in the death of a man days after the initial collision. The Metro Nashville Police Department relayed to WSMV that the victim, 53-year-old Garrett Stolle of College Grove, succumbed to his injuries at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Tuesday. Stolle originally sustained critical injuries during the July 25 incident on I-65 North.
