Ports of Indiana Plans to Establish First Container Port on Lake Michigan

Study shows more than 340,000 acres of Indiana farmland gone
(The Center Square) – Indiana lost nearly 2% of its farmland over 12 years. That’s according to a legislative-directed study by state agricultural officials. The inventory conducted by the Indiana State Department of Agriculture determined the acreage of parcels devoted to farming fell by a net total of 345,682 acres to slightly less than 18 million acres. South Bend, Indiana: Firefighters Tackle Back-to-Back Fires, Vacant House Damaged
South Bend, IN – Firefighters in South Bend were busy overnight, responding to two major fires that caused significant damage but resulted in no injuries. It all began before midnight, when fire crews were dispatched to the 700 block of Johnson Street to address a working fire in a one-story house. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames on the exterior of the house, spreading to the attic. Crews attacked the fire from the Charlie side, where the fire was most intense. They managed to get the blaze under control after roughly thirty minutes, with primary and secondary searches yielding no injuries.
