    60 mph winds and small hail moving through Greene and Washington counties; take shelter immediately.

    [PITTSBURGH] — Issued by the National Weather Service at 2:59 PM EDT on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

    A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of southwestern Pennsylvania, including Northeastern Greene County and South Central Washington County, until 3:45 PM EDT. The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh reports a severe thunderstorm moving east at 10 mph with the potential to produce wind gusts up to 60 mph and small hail.

    As of 2:59 PM EDT, the severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of East Washington or 8 miles south of Washington, PA. This storm is expected to impact the following areas:

    • Fredericktown-Millsboro
    • Ellsworth

    • Cokeburg
    • Marianna
    • Beallsville
    • Centerville
    • Scenery Hill
    • Amity
