Sweeeeet! SusieCakes to Celebrate Grand Opening at The Forum Carlsbad

If you like cake — and who doesn’t — you’re in for a sweet treat (or two) that no doubt will satisfy the old tastebuds.

The Forum in Carlsbad is having a grand opening of SusieCakes on Aug. 24, from 12 to 3 p.m.

The grand opening celebration will include samples of assorted baked goods, music, face painting, a balloon artist, a chance to win free cake for a year, a grab bag gift with every purchase, and more family-friendly activities. Additionally, the first 50 guests in line starting at 11 a.m. will receive a SusieCakes branded coffee mug.

Renowned for its home-style baked goods, SusieCakes brings a taste of nostalgia and tradition to Carlsbad with its newest location.

Founded by Susan Sarich in 2006 in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, SusieCakes was born from Sarich’s cherished memories of baking alongside her grandmothers, Mildred and Madeline. With a commitment to using simple, back-to-basic ingredients, SusieCakes offers an array of classic American desserts. From old-fashioned layer cakes to decadent cupcakes, classic cookies, and traditional pies, every treat is made entirely on-site and from scratch.

Sarich’s Midwest upbringing and the treasured 3”x 5” recipe cards passed down from her grandmothers serve as the cornerstone of SusieCakes’ offerings. Combining her business expertise with these beloved family recipes, Sarich has created a bakery that quickly became a neighborhood favorite and attracted a large celebrity following.

Since its inception, SusieCakes has expanded steadily across Southern California, with locations in Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, and San Diego counties, as well as throughout Northern California in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Most recently, SusieCakes launched nationwide shipping to reach even more states and satisfy sweet cravings across the country.

The bakery is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
