A 53-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday with bleeding of the brain after he lost control of his 2008 Lincoln Town Car and was struck from behind by another car in the San Diego neighborhood of Kensington.

The crash was reported at approximately 11:23 pm. Friday and San Diego Police officers responded to the 4800 block of Fairmount Avenue. When they arrived, officers learned the man was driving south on Fairmount when he inexplicably lost control of his vehicle and struck the embankment on the west side of the road, police said.

A 24-year-old woman driving her 2005 Acura behind the victim was unable to avoid the Lincoln Town Car and collided into the side of the vehicle. The victim sustained a brain bleed and was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

The department’s Traffic Division is in charge of the investigation and anyone with information related to it was asked to call 858-495-7800 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
