    Young consultants wanted for homelessness pilot program

    The Office of Homeless Youth announced on Wednesday it is paying young people to spearhead a new program for homeless and housing insecure youth.

    Teens and young adults ages 16 to 25 who have experienced or are currently experiencing homelessness can join the program as paid consultants, the Department of Commerce reports further.

    Selected candidates will help co-design a process for a statewide Direct Cash Transfers pilot program, according to Commerce.

    Interested parties can attend an in-person and virtual workshop to learn more about the program on the following dates, Commerce reports further.

    • In-person
      • Tuesday, Aug. 20, 12 - 3 p.m. Tacoma, WA
      • Wednesday, Aug. 21, 12 - 3 p.m., Toppenish, WA
      • Thursday, Aug. 22, 12 - 3 p.m., Spokane, WA
    • Virtual (Zoom meetings)
      • Tuesday, Aug. 27, 3 - 5 .p.m.
      • Wednesday, Aug. 28, 3 - 5 .p.m.

    Interested parties can register for the event here. The events will be catered, according to Commerce.
