Union-Endicott Little League Hosts 10U State Championships
Over in Endicott the 10U Little League Baseball State Tournament kicked off earlier today with their opening ceremony. Union-Endicott will be hosting their fourth straight state tournament, the ceremony began at Logan Field introducing the eight teams that will be competing for a state title and a home-run derby shortly followed after.

Three people killed in crash on Interstate 86 in Chemung
Three people were killed in a car accident on Interstate 86 in Chemung on Friday afternoon. According to the New York State Police, 36-year-old Steven A. Mallory of Horseheads, and 18-year-old Colin J. Ferrell and 44-year-old Tiffany Ferrell, both of Endicott, were killed in a crash that occurred at around 4:50 p.m. on Friday.

Former Bills RB Latavius Murray Teams Up With Enduraphin And House Of Sport For Pro Day
Over at the Dick's House of Sport in Johnson City, a former Buffalo Bills running-back made an appearance for a Pro Day event powered by Enduraphin. Latavius Murray, currently an NFL free agent made an appearance at the House of Sport to take part in the Pro Day to join kids ranging from eight to seventeen years old in skills and drills and teach them proper technique when it comes to training. Murray was also joined by his Strength and Conditioning Coach Vinny Scollo, as well as Sports Dietitian Alyson Onyon.
18-Year-Old Son and Mom Killed in Crash While They Were Returning Home from College Orientation
An 18-year-old teen and his mother were traveling home from his college orientation in New York state last week when they were killed in a car crash, authorities said. A 2018 Nissan Maxima was traveling westbound on Interstate 86 in New York on July 19 just before 5 p.m. local time when the vehicle “crossed over the median” and struck a 2015 Acura RDX traveling eastbound, according to a news release from New York State Police.

The Maloney familY started a project in October of 2023 to help the less fortunate in the Elmira area. 18 family members agreed to buy 60 personal care items each, and now there are more than 1,200 items to be given away.

Hector Aguilar-Carreño, professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Marjolein van der Meulen, Swanson Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering and the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering, have been named associate vice provosts in the Office of the Vice President for Research & Innovation (OVPRI).
