Two former Notre Dame players make WNBA All-Star roster
The final decade or so of Muffet McGraw’s tenure at Notre Dame saw her develop many future WNBA stars. Those stars have their mark on today’s league and have earned the right to display their skills as much as possible. The WNBA All-Star roster for the annual All-Star Game on July 20 in Phoenix has been announced. That roster will include the Dallas Wings’ arike ogunbowale and the Minnesota Lynx’s Kayla McBride, two players who came up with the Irish. Ogunbowale was named to the team by virtue of being one of the top 10 vote-getters among fans, players and media. McBride was one of eight additional players named after coaches completed the final round of voting. Among those on the final ballot but not making the roster were the Seattle Storm’s Skylar Diggins-Smith and the Chicago Sky’s Marina Mabrey. The WNBA All-Stars will face the U.S. Olympic team, which includes the Las Vegas Aces’ Jackie Young, who also was one of the top 10 WNBA vote-getters, and the Storm’s Jewell Loyd. KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – Dan and Chelsea Savage of Kalamazoo and their three boys did everything together. Now, their family is devastated. Dan Savage died and two of his boys were critically injured in a crash Sunday, June 30, in Allegan County’s Fillmore Township. His wife and other son are recovering from injuries.
Plymouth Police Department Investigating Theft from Car Dealership
The Plymouth Police Department is investigating a report of theft from Oliver Ford. The report was made Monday, June 24. Police say after reviewing video surveillance it was discovered that two unknown male subjects stole a white 2024 Ford F-350 Platinum Edition truck from the lot Thursday, June 13. The vehicle was valued at $98,000.
South Bend police searching for bank robber
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Police are searching for a bank robber after the Notre Dame Federal Credit Union on South Bend’s northwest side was robbed Wednesday afternoon. WNDU 16 News Now had a crew out in South Bend when they saw police cars driving quickly to the bank in the 3400 block of Portage Avenue.
