Lowe’s Home Improvement robbery suspect sought by Durham police
DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The Durham Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a person suspected of robbing a large chain store on Saturday night. According to Durham police, the robbery took place around 8:42 p.m. Saturday at the Lowe’s Home Improvement store located at 4402 Fayetteville Road, which is near the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

A federal judge ruled Friday that a provision in North Carolina's abortion laws requiring doctors to document the location of a pregnancy before prescribing abortion pills should be blocked permanently, affirming that it was too vague to be enforced reasonably.The implementation of that requirement was already halted last year by U.S. District Judge Catherine Eagles until a lawsuit challenging portions of the abortion law enacted by the Republican-dominated General Assembly in 2023 was litigated further. Driver flown to trauma center after crashing into tree near North Fayetteville
A single-car crash left a driver seriously injured Sunday morning.It happened on Elliot Bridge Road near Linden and North Fayetteville just before 6:30 a.m.Upon arrival, units found a Chevrolet SUV had crashed into a tree with the driver pinned inside the vehicle.Authorities said they were able to free the driver.The driver was then flown to a trauma center for their injuries. Their identity has not been released yet.The driver is facing charges for driving while intoxicated, speeding, using a fictitious plate on a vehicle, and not wearing a seatbelt.North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
