COLUMBUS — The Toledo Mud Hens drew a walk and got plunked twice to score the go-ahead run and defeat the Columbus Clippers 6-5 in 11 innings in the series finale on Saturday at Huntington Park.

The Mud Hens (41-45) forced a six-game series split against Columbus (38-48).

In the top of the 11th inning, Spencer Torkelson drew a one-out walk off Columbus reliever John Doxakis, who hit Dillon Dingler and Bligh Madris on consecutive pitches. The latter scored Akil Baddoo as the courtesy runner.

Michael Bienlien pitched a 1-2-3 bottom half for his first save of the season. Devin Sweet (5-5) completed the 10th inning and got the win, while Doxakis dropped to 1-3.

Both teams scored a pair of runs in the 10th inning. Toledo’s Andrew Navigato hit a two-run single, scoring Ryan Vilade and Justice Bigbie, while Myles Straw, with two outs, did the same on the first pitch of his at-bat in the bottom half.

Torkelson, Dingler, and Madris each went 2 for 5 and drove in a run, with Torkelson plating a pair.

Toledo starter Brant Hurter, who exited his June 30 home start after one pitch with an injury, lasted 5⅓ innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits and one walk with no strikeouts.

Johnathan Rodriguez hit a solo homer off Hurter in the sixth inning.

Toledo is off Sunday and Monday before traveling for a six-game series against the Omaha Storm Chasers. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. Tuesday; neither team has named a starter.
