We simulated Battle of I-75 in ‘College Football 25.’ Here’s what happened

How do the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University stack up in the virtual version of the Battle of I-75?

The Blade ran a simulation of the rivalry game in EA Sports College Football 25 , which was released Monday for those who pre-ordered and will be widely released on Friday. We used current rosters for a contest with 15-minute quarters.

Here is a look at Toledo’s home entrance.

In this iteration at least, the Battle of I-75 was indeed a battle.

Bowling Green nearly came back from a 17-point halftime deficit at the Glass Bowl, cutting Toledo’s lead to a touchdown before a late field goal, the third of three from Luke Pawlak, lifted the Rockets to a 30-20 victory.

Tucker Gleason had a big day for the Rockets in this sim, completing 16 of 26 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns. Jerjuan Newton caught three passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, while Larry Stephens had three receptions for 89 yards and a score.

Bowling Green quarterback Connor Bazelak completed 19 of 29 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown. RJ Garcia caught seven passes for 86 yards, while Malcolm Johnson, Jr., had three receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons’ Terion Stewart racked up 106 yards on 18 carries, with Jaison Patterson converting a rushing touchdown. Toledo’s Jacquez Stuart ran for 53 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

Alan Anaya had two field goals for Bowling Green.

The game rates Toledo with an overall score of 74, good for a tie for second in the Mid-American Conference. Bowling Green has an overall rating of 72, fourth in the MAC.

The real-life Battle of I-75 takes place Oct. 26 at the Glass Bowl.
