Governor Greg Abbott recognized an increase in illegal immigrants crossing the Texas border with Mexico. Instead of letting people cross the border illegally which is against U.S. federal law, he took action to stop them as they crossed the open border.

Now going on into its third year with Operation Lone Star, Governor Abbott continues to stop illegal immigrants from making residence in Texas and other States.

According to a press release, Operation Lone Star has detained 508,900 illegal immigrants.

Last month, Governor Abbott posted on X he sent over 105,000 legal migrants to sanctuary cities at taxpayer expense and donations received.

Texas has spent approximately $150 million busing migrants to sanctuary cities according to Spectrum News.

CNN reported the bus program received 1% in donations.

Despite the expenses, Operation Lone Star has helped stop drugs and criminal immigrants from entering Texas.

In a press release, Operation Lone Star has made:

    • 508,900 illegal immigrant arrests
    • 41,900 criminal arrests
    • seized over 475 million lethal doses of fentanyl

Governor Abbott continued building the southern wall that was started under former President Donald Trump. In a recent post on X, Governor Abbott shared a video of the wall construction. He said:

“More panels are being installed at the Texas border wall in Maverick County.”
“Texas will never back down from our historic efforts to secure the border.”

Then just a few days ago, Time Magazine said Governor Abbott was one of the 100 most influential people.

Governor Abbott continues his fight along the border to pick up where the federal government could not keep up.
