TOMS RIVER - A Toms River man with an active arrest warrant and a history of vehicle burglaries was arrested Wednesday, after police said they found him attempting to break into vehicles in a neighborhood, authorities said.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., Toms River Police responded to St. Regis Court for a report of a man wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts attempting to enter vehicles parked in the driveway, police said. As officers checked the area, they found the subject seated in a vehicle parked in a driveway on Feldmus Lane.

The man, later identified as 45-year-old Kristopher Fudali, fled on foot into the woods but was subsequently located in the retention basin, police said. Fudali was arrested for multiple vehicle burglaries and theft.

The investigation is continuing and additional complaints are pending, according to police. Fudali also had an active warrant for his arrest relating to vehicle burglaries committed on June 29.

Additionally, Toms River Police have investigated and arrested Fudali multiple times this year, accusing him of the fraudulent use of credit cards which were stolen from residents' vehicles, police said. Anyone with additional information pertaining to this individual or related crimes is urged to contact Detective Grob at 732-349-0150, Ext. 1319.
