Suspects accused of dismembering body of Toms River homeowner appear in court

New video shows the scene where that homicide and police standoff took place earlier this month in Toms River. The defendants accused in connection to this incident were in court on Wednesday facing numerous charges. The order of events began back on June 27 when police say Maxwell Johnston shot 25-year-old Gabriella Caroleo. Caroleo was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries. Before she got to the hospital, Caroleo called police from the side of the road at Ridgeway Road and South Hope Chapel in Manchester Township. Police on Wednesday released the 911 call Caroleo made to police after she was shot in the stomach. On July 5, police tracked Johnston down to a home on Ravenwood Drive in Toms River. The home is now boarded up with debris still visible from that seven-hour stand-off. Johnston shot and killed himself during that standoff. In gruesome details, court documents reveal how after Johnston shot Rollason, suspects Elizabeth Mascarelli, Danielle Bolstad, Jared Krysiak, and Jarred Palumbo all assisted Johnston in dismembering and removing Rollason's remains before dumping them at a property on Toms River Road in Jackson Township. The surviving suspects are all charged with hindering apprehension and desecration of human remains. Mascarelli faces additional weapons charges. News 12 is still waiting for the official affidavit of probable cause document on the suspects from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Meanwhile, Bolstad and Mascarelli are both due in court next week. "
