    Auburn road reopens, body found

    Update 3:36 p.m.: The sheriff’s office has identified the deceased as Lowell W. Lence, 80, of Topeka.

    Update 12:50 p.m.: The sheriff’s office reports that Southwest Auburn Road has been reopened. More information is expected to be released.

    Topeka man dies after crashing into a tree in Shawnee County

    Update 11 a.m.: The sheriff’s office reports that a dead body has been discovered in the 4400 block of Southwest Auburn Road. The sheriff’s office is still investigating the scene.

    Update 10:35 a.m.: The sheriff’s office reports that the northbound lane of Southwest Auburn Road is now open.

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office announced that Auburn Road has been closed due to an ongoing investigation.

    At 10 a.m., the sheriff’s office reported that Southwest Auburn Road between Southwest 45th Street and Southwest 37th Street is closed pending an investigation.

    The sheriff’s office said to take other routes such as Southwest Indian Hills Road, Southwest Urish Road or Southwest Wanamaker Road.

    More information will be provided as it becomes available.
