Longtime Topeka hobby store to move locations

TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Dee and Mee Hobbies will be switching locations in September.

The store, which focuses on selling RC vehicles, puzzles, arts and craft supplies and board games, is leaving Fairlawn Plaza after over 20 years in the shopping center.

The new location will be will be on the northeast corner at 2253 SW 10th Avenue.

KSNT 27 News spoke to Dee and Bee Hobbies manager Earl Wallace who told us that they are moving because they need more space.

“We’re stacked and packed. We just have so much product,” Wallace said. “We need a larger space and there’s so much more that we know that the community wants that we don’t have. We definitely need a bigger place to bring all that stuff in.”

The store will close its Fairlawn location on Sept. 2.

They tell 27 News that they are hoping to open up their new location by Sept. 7, but they are unsure if that will be a possibility.

They say they will keep their Facebook page updated with that information when they know more.
