Topeka police looking for stolen vehicle with puppy inside

Update 3:45 p.m., July 31: The Topeka Police Department reports that the stolen vehicle has been located and two individuals are in custody in connection to the crime. Police say a high-speed pursuit started in the Auburn area and entered into city limits before ending in the 2700 block of Fairlawn Road.
TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Topeka Police Department (TPD) is asking for community assistance in finding a stolen vehicle that had a puppy inside.
At 9 a.m. on July 30 the TPD said in a press release it’s on the lookout for a black Volkswagen Passat with the tag number KS 0806ABC. The vehicle was reported as stolen around 5:30 a.m. from a Kwik Shop at Southwest Sixth and MacVicar.
Police said a puppy was inside the vehicle when it was stolen. The TPD shared a photo of the car and of the puppy.
The TPD is asking anyone with information on the vehicle’s whereabouts to call 911 or report anonymously to Shawnee County Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
