Jacksonville's New Bridge Street project set to enhance downtown by year-end
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — We have an update to a construction project happening in your community. In Jacksonville, the New Bridge Street Streetscape project continues. Project managers tell us since March of last year, crews have been working to improve the infrastructure in the city’s downtown area. With new storm drains, gutters and a new water main system, crews hope to mitigate flooding and make parking more accessible.
Pender County nonprofit getting closer to moving into new location
HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County non-profit is in the process of moving to a new location to better serve those in need. Share The Table is an organization that provides free community meals and a food pantry. They give away more than 1,000 meals to people in Pender and Onslow County per week. The faith-based organization is in the process of moving to a larger location in Hampstead off Highway 17 on Perkins Drive. The new location will allow them to offer more services, such as education and cooking classes. Dawn Ellis, the nonprofit’s Executive Director said she’s excited they’re going to be able to help more people.
