2024 Vintage Car Show will award six trophies
The 11th annual OBD Williams-Fossett Vintage Car Show volunteers report that 2024 trophies have already arrived due to quick action by the Bristol Town Office staff. Six trophies will be awarded by popular voting including first, second and third place, outstanding motorcycle, staff pick and the coveted “kids pick” trophy decided by young attendees, twelve and under.
The Annual Greek Festival in Saco, Maine, is This Week
Did you miss the Portland Greek Festival? Worry not, and head to Saco's starting this Friday. Nothing is better than Greek food. Greeks show love through food, and there is so much love at the Greek Festival in Saco. Last year was the first time they had been in person in years because of the pandemic. The big tent is all set, and once again, the food, music, and dancing will take place at the gorgeous St. Demetrios Orthodox Church in Saco.
Trail walk at Sabbathday Lake Wednesday July 10
We enjoyed our walk with master naturalist Marie Camillo Reimensnyder from Royal River Conservation Trust examining the many types of ferns on the Talking Brook Public Land. We also were surprised by a muskrat swimming in the pool at the top of Big Falls. It was having fun in the water and running over the rocks.

Maxwell's closing strawberry farm in Cape Elizabeth after 51 years
CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine — Popular pick-your-own strawberry spot Maxwell's Farm in Cape Elizabeth says it has decided to close after more than five decades in operation. Maxwell's Farm posted on social media Sunday announcing 2024 will be the strawberry farm's final season after 51 years, citing "no single reason" for its closure, but a "myriad of realities" that had built over time.
Registration open for week of community free blueberry picking at Beech Hill
ROCKPORT — “The ‘Blues’ will be ready early again this year,” said Coastal Mountains Land Trust, in a news release. CMLT invites everyone to pick berries at Beech Hill Preserve. As CMLT did last year, instead of selling blueberries, it will offer a week of community free picks, from Sunday, July 21 through Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., each day. An evening pick will be held on Thursday, July 25, from 5 - 7 p.m.
