For over 28 years, the murder of Tupac Shakur has been a mystery. The streets of Los Angeles were a dangerous place to be in the early-to-late 1990s. At the time, the East and West Coasts clashed over gangs, hip-hop, and territory. Tupac’s murder remains an active case. Everyone knows about Tupac getting shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996. Some years later, one man was sent to prison as the alleged suspect.
Keefe D’s Involvement In Tupac Shooting
There has been speculation about who murdered the greatest hip-hop artist of that era. Accusations are still coming out. Duane “Keefe D” Davis, a suspect, has been speaking out. Since being incarcerated, “Keefe D” has provided more information regarding the murder. He even named a bribery suspect known as Diddy, which is a name Sean Combs has used in his music career.
In 2009, “Keefe D” informed police that Diddy would pay him seven figures ($1 million) to kill Tupac. Diddy may have been looking to have West Coast leaders taken out. However, Diddy has denied allegations of being the shooter.
Murder Suspect Goes Undercover
As the case was unfolding, “Keefe D” was known as an informant relaying information to police. He thought that he could work his way out of prosecution and getting arrested. Unfortunately, his plan was not successful. Diddy did mention that gang members from the South Side Crips killed Tupac. One former member, Eric “Zip” Martin, was in contact with “Keefe D” throughout the investigation.
“Keefe D” began working with the Nevada Police Task Force. “Keefe D” was denied bail on a $750,000 bond in January. Evidence places him in Las Vegas on the night of Tupac’s murder, giving him no ground to stand on due to recordings and previous statements made.
“Keefe D” made a scene in court last Tuesday.
‘Keefe D’ Courtroom Outbursts
On July 23rd, “Keefe D” appeared in court in Las Vegas. He was denied bail on a $112,500 bond. Then, “Keefe D” began shouting at Judge Carli Kierny. The initial proceedings were in regards to a friend, Cash “Wack 100” Jones, posting bail money. Previous conversations focused on “Keefe D” starring in a reality TV show.
The outbursts consisted of Davis accusing a former police officer, Greg Kading, and two attorneys. “Keefe D” said, “They are not only ugly on the outside but they are ugly on the inside.” He directed his comments toward Chief Deputy District Attorneys Marc DiGiacomo and Binu Palal. Davis said Kading hid evidence for 15-plus years, which leaves him without proof of being innocent.
Davis says that a novel was created and written about the case by Kading. His family was also questioned by the two attorneys. This included his son, daughter, and wife. Davis admitted to having a concealed weapon for Tupac’s murder of Tupac and being in Las Vegas at the same time. Kierny has not decided on what evidence will be used in the trial. Davis could face a life sentence in prison. He pled not guilty in court on Tuesday.
