In searching for true love, you might end up with a gold digger as there are a lot of them nowadays. A large number of people in the current generation don’t believe in character or conduct much, they rather prefer status and luxury. The worst part is, they act like they care about a person but in reality, they only care about their money which can be a real problem for someone who is actually looking for a committed relationship. They will find it difficult to understand who is into his/her money and who is interested in a genuine relationship.

    Who Is A Gold Digger?

A person is called a gold digger when he/she start a relationship with someone only to enjoy his/her money and status. Gold diggers generally don’t have any emotional feelings or attachments for the other person; their sole intention is to use their wealth as much as possible. In most of the cases, we see young women being gold diggers and pursuing relationships with someone much older than them.

It might be because the older person won’t be alive for too long and that way all his wealth can be automatically hers. But in present days, is became so common that there are no gender or age stereotypes as anyone can be a gold digger depending on their preference.

How to Recognize a Gold Digger?

Imagine the danger of falling for someone and catching true feelings who is only after your money. It’s okay if both parties are aware of it but it’s not okay if someone is playing with you just to consume everything that you own. In that case, you need to take some time to understand who truly wants you and who doesn’t. Never rush things out before being 100% sure about someone’s intention. To make it easy for you, we’ll mention some points which will help you to recognize gold diggers.

    1. Interest in materialistic things

Generally, gold diggers love to get expensive and branded gifts every now and then. They don’t really care about the things that are more thoughtful rather than materialistic. Try giving them things that include emotions, for example, a handwritten note, good morning texts, sweet gestures, or a poem. If your partner seems less interested or happy with the thoughtful gifts and only looks forward to the things with high monetary value then you might need to think twice.

    2. Contribution in finance

If someone wants to be with you with marriage in mind, they tend to support financially and share expenses. Partners are always willing to pay money from their own pocket to make the person they love feel special. But gold diggers don’t bother about paying the bill or even buying gifts for their partners.

    3. Romantic interest

It’s natural for someone to have a romantic attraction for their partners when they are together. But in the case of gold diggers, their romance emerges only when you buy them something expensive or take them out to a fancy place.

    4. History of ex-lovers

If you doubt someone being a gold digger, then try to find out about their ex-lovers' history. If they have a bunch of exes with high status and financial stability, then it can be a sign. It’s a matter of concern if they have a record of leaving one lover for another richer one.

    5. Always goes for the expensive option

Another characteristic of a gold digger is that they always go for the expensive option. When someone wants a committed relationship, they would never waste their money on something overly expensive. But if they aren’t genuine then they don’t care about it and book fancy restaurants, branded products, etc.

    6. Superior feeling

Gold diggers always think themselves superior to others and believe they can pull any guy with their looks. They maintain a good body and high status in society with the money of their partner. It may happen that they are out of your league according to looks but still stay with you for your wealth.

    7. Consult with a friend

Last but not least, if you are still confused about someone being a gold digger then talk about it with a close friend. Relationships are personal affairs but there are some matters which is easy to spot from afar. So, there’s a chance that your friend might have seen something that you couldn’t see up close.

If one or more criteria match the person you are seeing or in a relationship with, you must make a decision as soon as possible to protect yourself and your wealth. It’s best to cut off the person if their behavior gives you an instinct about them being a gold digger.
