Pokemon TCG: Looking at Shrouded Fable

It has been a week since Pokémon released their latest booster set, Shrouded Fable, but with the release of the Elite Trainer Boxes still two weeks away, the only products we have are the Kingdra EX, Kingambit illustration Collection, and Greninja EX boxes.

With that, coupled with the world being next week, there was curiosity about what prices would do

Top Five Cards In Set

A week post-release, the Cassiopeia special illustration rare is the most expensive card in the set, with a current RCGPlayer market price of $103 dollars as of Thursday. The Fezandipiti EX special illustration rare is second, at $74.88. This extremely playable card is one most trainers are looking for to include in their decks, due to its “Flip the Script” ability that lets you draw three cards if one of your Pokemon was knocked out last turn. The Earthen Vessel hyernrsrenis third, at $53.63, is another super meta-relevant card in almost all top three ether meta decks, it's the first printing of the card outside of an uncommon or foil card.

Fourth is the Okidogie EX special illustration rare, currently with a market price of $37.15. This card looks great and is being played in some rogue decks, including its own due to its attack “Chiaim-Crazed” which does 130 damage for two dark energy and a colorless and does 130 more if poisoned. The strategy is due its deck is to poison it using Brute Bonnet’s Toxic Powder ability.

Fifth currently is the Persian illustration rare with a current market price of $32.76. This card isn't currently used in any Meda decks, but is an amazing art of one of the original 151 Pokémon and looks great in Shrouded Fable.

Value Staples

Cards like Fezandipiti EX and Okiesogie have other arts, and while they are still in double digits, they are available. Fezandipiti EX comes in two other arts, an ultra-rare and a double rare The ultra-rare will run $16.02, while the double rare is $12.86. Those prices have dropped from last week, when the ultra-rare was going for around $34 on the release date. Okiwdogie EX also has ultra-rare and double-rare versions, currently the ultra-rare is going for $4.22, while the double-rare is around $1.76.

Other Important Cards

The Dusclops, which places five damage counters on one of your opponent's Pokémon in return for giving your opponent a prize card, has a great looking illustration, rare currently going $17.58 Its evolution, Dusknoir which puts 13 damage counters on one of your pets Pokémon in return for giving your opponent a prize card, also has an illustration rare currently going $24.44. Both cards also come in cheaper versions as a rare for Dusknoir and a common for Dusclops.

The new art of Munkidori, which allows you to move three damage counters from more than your Pokémon to your opponents, Pokémon, gets its first illustration rare, currently sitting at $18.! One of the best-looking cards in the set, the Horsea illustration rare is currently going for $15.48. There are also two gold energies in the set, the dark energy is currently going $12.61, while the metal energy is going for $11.82 The Bewear has a very menacing, looking illustration rare, one of the darker-looking cards in a set that seems to rotate around dark type Pokémon is absolute nightmare fuel, looking up at Bewear is currently going for a market price of $6.82.

One of the best decks in the format gets a boost from Shrouded Fable, which will be legal for day one of World next week. Kyurem is a dragon type that can do 110 damage to three of your opponent's Pokemon, it has a high attack cost, but in Regidrago VStar, the attack cost is negated by using it from the discard with Regidrago VStar's "Apx Dragon" attack. The ace spec with the highest market price is Neutralization Zone, currently at $2.68.

One of the best decks in the format, Regidrago VStargets is stronger with Shrouded Fable as it introduces a new basic Kyurem, which does 110 damage to three of your opponent's Pokemon, it's attack cost, which is large is negated when using it from the discard with Regidrago VStar's "Apex Dragon: attack which lets you copy the attack of a dragon type from your discard.
