The 33-year-old rapper, Jacques Bermon Webster II, popularly known as Travis Scott has been arrested based on assault allegations against a security guard. The arrest took place at a hotel in central Paris on Friday, August 9, 2024. According to the French authorities, the alleged assault also involved a security guard of George V Hotel, central Paris, and Travis Scott's bodyguard. The Paris Public Prosecutor has issued an official statement explaining the details of the arrest and the next line of action.
The Rapper Is Arrested in a Paris Hotel
The Paris Prosecutor's office has publicly confirmed that police officers were called to George V Hotel, central Paris on Friday, August 9, 2024, to arrest Travis Scott following allegations of assault. Recall that Travis Scott was pictured at the Olympics event in Paris on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the USA's basketball match against Serbia.
According to the French authorities, the rapper earlier got into a fight with his security detail, and while the security guard of the hotel tried to intervene, he got assaulted. "I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard," the Prosecutor's office said in a statement.
The Paris public prosecutor’s office also disclosed in another statement that the case had been referred to the 1st district of the judicial police. A representative for Travis Scott further confirmed that Scott had been "chased and harassed" by paparazzi for several days without help. The representative stated, “We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate”.
Details of Travis Scott's Previous Arrests
Sometime in June 2024, Travis Scott was arrested on a "disorderly intoxication" charge following an unruly attitude on a yacht at Miami Beach, Florida. According to reports, he yelled at people on a private yacht which his Attorney described as a mere misunderstanding. The popular Showbiz news site TMZ reported that the charge of disorderly intoxication against Scott was dropped. However, he still faces a trespass charge.

While Scott did not face criminal charges for their death, he had lots of civil suits for the unfortunate incident.
