Mark Stone has dealt with a lot in the last few seasons, he's been injured multiple times, and fans have given Vegas a bad rep for the way they've handled injuries and how Stone has returned from injury to make it back for the playoffs in time.

Mark Stone has never played more than 65 games with the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The Vegas Captain has dealt with tons of injuries but his production has still been solid, with Stone putting up 17 goals, and 53 points in 56 games played in 2023-24.

Vegas ended up being eliminated by the Dallas Stars in the first round of the 2024 Playoffs in 7 games.

Mark Stone was a key player for the Ottawa Senators, especially in his last season with the Senators putting up 28 goals and 63 points in 56 games, before being traded to the Golden Knights.

Mark Stone was traded to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, the Senators got Erik Branstrom, Oscar Lindberg, and a 2020 Second-Round Pick, and the Golden Knights received Mark Stone and Tobias Lindberg.

In 2019, Mark Stone signed an 8-year, $76,000,000 contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, including a $48,000,000 signing bonus, $76,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $9,500,000.

Mark Stone's lumbar surgery he got initially in 2022 worked, but the problems began popping up again during the 2022-23 Season and in 2023 he injured his back again, This required a second surgery within nine months and Vegas put him on the LTIR, using his cap to help the team improve and Stone had a good recovery in time for the Stanley Cup. Vegas activated him and the playoffs don't count against the cap, Vegas ended up defeating the Florida Panthers for the 2023 Stanley Cup.

Mark Stone is also expected to play on the Top Powerplay Unit with Ivan Barbashev, Jack Eichel, Tomas Hertl, and Defenseman Noah Hanifin.

Mark Stone recently addressed the criticism of the Golden Knights and them losing key players like Jonathan Marchessault in the offseason.

"As I'm older I have realized that people are going to put a bullseye on our back because they want to see us fail," Stone said. "We haven't failed too much in our history. People want to see the Golden Knights crash and burn. But like I said, I think the foundation we built doesn't really allow for that to happen. So, I'm feeling confident.

"I think the team is excited to get back. We definitely have that chip on our shoulder. A lot of people in our industry don't believe that we can get back to the team that we know we are, but time will tell. We still believe that we're one of the teams that is going to training camp with the chance to win the Stanley Cup".
