Pedro Neto’s #7 Swap for Sterling Reveals Big Chelsea Change

Pedro Neto was given the number 7 Jersey upon his arrival at Chelsea. However, the jersey number was at the expense of the Veteran Raheem Sterling. This indicates that Chelsea is interested in valuing Neto above Sterling. Coach Enzo Maresca also confirmed that Sterling is expected to leave the club before the window ends.

The Blues’ opening-day defeat, saw them leave Sterling out of the squad before the game. However, Neto who just arrived was in the squad but he didn’t start the game. Later on, the Portuguese was brought in the second half. He had some influence in the game, but couldn’t do much to help the Blues fight back against Man City.

Pedro Neto was signed in from Wolves two weeks ago for a fee of €60m with €3madd-onn. The Blues brought in the Portuguese from the Molineux with the hope of boosting their attack. The 24-year-old winger is extremely versatile and capable of playing both wings on the pitch. He is also known for his explosiveness and ability to terrorize defense with his quick pace from any angle on the pitch.

During his time at Wolves, he proved to be very lethal when on the pitch. And despite his lengthy injury time, e he was able to provide 9assistst and 2 goals in 20 games.

Neto has always had one or two injury problems over his past seasons at Wolves. The Portuguese started on a strong foot when he arrived in 2019 appearing in 29 premier league games. His second season became 31. But after his first two seasons, he had only managed 20 appearances once, which was last season. The other seasons were 13 and 18 appearances respectively.

Raheem Sterling’s Situation at Chelsea

Raheem Sterling has been told to leave Chelsea, as he has been informed that he’ll not be a part of Enzo Maresca’s plan for the Club. So far Chelsea has secured the signing of several players, and it seems not to stop there for them. The Blues are planning to continue acquiring more players into the team. However to achieve they have to let some players go. They’ve been able to make the sale of Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid. As it stands Raheem Sterling has already been labeled as part of players planned to be sold.

New Season for Chelsea

Chelsea’s first game of the season under Enzo Maresca ended in a 2nil loss against Man City. Maresca on the other hand was not displeased with the results, as he believes the team is still under development. Chelsea will be hoping the team improves as soon as possible enough to start getting good results. Maresca has also told the fans to exercise patience with the team. The Blue will face Wolves at the Molineux in their next game of the season. Enzo Maresca will hope his side can deliver a better result than their first game week.
