Phillies at Braves 8/22 DFS Start'em/ Sit'em

Tonight is the final game of this crucial three-game series of division foes between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves. There have been a combined nine runs scored in the series so far which makes this DFS pick even more important.

The Phillies hold a seven-game lead in the National League East over the Braves and these two teams will match up for another three-game set next week in Philadelphia.

Braves SS Orlando Arcia ($5,000 on DraftKings)

The Braves shortstop has had a down year after a surprising 2023 season after Dansby Swanson left in free agency. Arcia has lots of history with the Phillies after calling out Bryce Harper after he made a base running mistake which led to a Braves victory in game two of the NLDS.

Harper would then respond by staring him down after hitting two homers in game three. Last night, Arcia was the lone spark for the Braves offense as he hit a two-run homer and then chose to stare down Harper. Arcia felt like he was playing with some intent in this series and with the lefty starting pitcher, you can get some great value with Arcia.

Phillies 2B Bryson Stott ($6,200 on DraftKings)

Like Arcia, Stott has struggled after a promising 2023 season. Stott is still a reliable defensive second baseman but his offense has not come through. But in the recent games, Stott's approach at the plate has been much better.

Stott has a hit in his last two starts and last night, he came through with a crucial sacrifice fly which led to Brandon Marsh driving in the game-winning run. This is great value for a player who looks to have found his swing in the past week.

Braves OF Michael Harris II ($8,200 on DraftKings)

The Braves young outfielder has moved into the leadoff spot since the season-ending injury occurred to Ronald Acuna Jr. but even with that, this matchup is not a good one.

Cristopher Sánchez has been a reliable piece for the Phillies especially against left-handed hitters. Harris grounded out four times last night and tonight, he will face one of the best groundball pitchers in baseball. That matchup doesn't go well and with that high value, it might be worth taking a safer pick.

Phillies 1B Bryce Harper ($9,200)

This might be one of the most shocking items that can be in a game. Bryce Harper is one of the best players in baseball and he has had a tremendous amount of success against the Braves throughout his entire career.

But this year has been a struggle for the Phils superstar against the Braves. Harper has over 40 home runs in his career against the Braves but none have come this year. Harper hasn't gotten a hit in this series and it's been rough against the Braves as a whole this year.

DFS Lock of the Game

Phillies 3B Alec Bohm ($8,400 on DraftKings)

Even though Bohm's 36-game on-base streak ended last night, that means Bohm has to bounce back and that starts tonight. Bohm has been the most consistent Phillies player this year and one off game shouldn't deter you from picking Bohm. $8400 is great value for a player who you can assume will produce at a high enough level.
