Black Myth: Wukong – Every Vessel Explained

Black Myth: Wukong is a brand-new Action RPG that has broken all records and is one of the most popular releases of 2024. Based on the popular classic Chinese Novel “Journey to the West”, this game follows the story of Sun Wukong as he fights powerful bosses and uncovers secrets. This game features a linear world design and a lot of features allowing players to fully customize the RPG element of the game.

Vessels

Vessels are a powerful piece of equipment in Black Myth: Wukong that enables passive effects and bonuses for a player. Only one vessel can be equipped at a time and there are a total of four available in the game. Each of these grants a unique effect and are obtainable from completing quests, and exploring secret areas of the game. Each vessel also comes with a passive as well as an active effect. The passive effect will remain as long as the vessel is equipped whereas the active effect can be activated during gameplay and will fully consume the Qi resource.

Fireproof Mantle

The Fireproof Mantle is potentially the first vessel that players will be able to unlock in Black Myth: Wukong. It requires the players to ring the three large bells in Chapter 1 and then defeat a boss.

• Passive Effect: Upon wearing the vessel, the player gains increased fire resistance and scorch immunity.
• Active Effect: Activating the vessel will make the player completely immune to fire as well as provide Focus regeneration.

Wind Tamer

Wind Tamer is obtained after unlocking the secret area in Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong and defeating the bosses that appear in that area.

• Passive Effect: Wind Tamer provides the player with extra damage reduction adding to the survivability.
• Active Effect: After activating the vessel, the damage reduction is further increased as well immunity to wind attacks is provided.

Weaver’s Needle

Weaver’s Needle is obtained in Chapter 4 of Black Myth: Wukong after completing the Purple Cloud Mountain. It is a complex quest that players need to complete to obtain this vessel.

• Passive Effect: Equipping this vessel increases the Critical hit damage as well as providing the chances of getting a Critical hit.
• Active Effect: Activating the vessel creates a needle that will aggressively track the enemy's movements.

Plantain Fan

Plantain Fan is obtained after completing Chapter 5, that is after beating the campaign of Black Myth: Wukong. It does not require players to do any additional quest or exploration and will be given by Princess Iron Fan after beating the game.

• Passive Effect: While wearing this vessel, the stamina recovery rate of the player is increased.
• Active Effect: Activate this vessel to create a tornado that tracks and immobilizes the enemies caught in it.
