As I said before, the 49ers are dealing with the injury of Greenlaw along with the departures of Chase Young, Javon Kinlaw, and Arik Armstead. And they have added Campbell, Leonard Floyd, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Maliek Collins. The Niners also added to the secondary in the draft as well to help Ward out more.

Fantasy Pros has the 49ers defense as the DST3 in their 2024 ECR ratings with the 30th easiest schedule with the following projections: 111 fantasy points with 44 sacks and 15 interceptions in 2024. The 49ers do have a tough schedule in 2024 but they have the talent that can overcome that and make noise again in fantasy.

The one adjustment the 49ers have to make is listening to a different defensive philosophy because of another defensive coordinator change but that shouldn’t hinder that defense too much.

Final Thoughts

The San Francisco 49ers defense is one of those defenses that you should draft with one of the top two defensive picks along with Cleveland because of the unit alone as people will draft the Jets and Cowboys units around them as well. The 49ers defense will create a lot of stats and should bring you at least ten points a lot of the time in 2024. Look to draft them in the seventh or eighth round of the drafts.
