Baltimore Ravens: 3 Breakout Starters for 2024

With a few key losses on offense and defense, the Baltimore Ravens will need multiple young starters to step up with sky-high aspirations in 2024. From the offensive line to the pass rush back to the secondary, they will have various new starters and full-time players stepping in.

Odafe Oweh will be a key full-time starter for the first time after mostly being a part-time player so far. Andrew Vorhees is back healthy after redshirting his rookie year due to injury. Brandon Stephens is likely the next Raven to get extended as a disruptive cornerback. In Baltimore, despite all their turnover this offseason, their expectations are still just as high coming off their 2023 season being just a game away from a Super Bowl.

With 13 career sacks after 3 seasons, Odafe Oweh is facing a critical year with the Baltimore Ravens. The former first-round pick from 2021 had his fifth-year option picked up this past offseason and is now looking at a full-time starter role for the first time. The young edge rusher came up in clutch moments but dealt with some injuries so far in the NFL. They need him to be consistent in 2024.

The Ravens are trusting their young pass rush duo with Oweh and David Ojabo, who is coming off injury. Veteran Kyle Van Noy, who had 9 sacks last year, will mix in opposite Oweh and will play a major role off the edge. Tavius Robinson and rookie Adisa Isaac are also expected to take a step forward in the position.

Andrew Vorhees Making Impact Coming Off Injury

The Baltimore Ravens offensive line is dealing with plenty of turnover, especially at their guard positions and at right tackle. However, the biggest value pick from last year, despite not playing due to injury, is Andrew Vorhees. The former seventh-rounder previous year missed the season due to a torn ACL, but still was able to bench press the best at the Scouting Combine.

The 25-year-old has looked good this preseason and is their starting projected left guard. With new running back Derrick Henry entering the fold, their offensive line will have to be able to overcome their losses from the previous season.

Their right side is brand new with Daniel Faalele and rookie Roger Rosengarten, but the player they traded up for late in last year’s draft could become a bonafide starter right away. Baltimore could also start versatile veteran Patrick Mekari anywhere on the offensive line.

Brandon Stephens Could Be Next Player Extended

The 26-year-old Brandon Stephens is likely the next paid player the Baltimore Ravens extend long-term. He was an above-average starter and filled in for Marlon Humphrey when he was injured last year. Entering his fourth season, the former third-rounder from 2021 had two interceptions and took a step forward as a pivotal starter on their playoff run.

Stephens offers plenty of size as a great disruptor and boundary cornerback in Baltimore. He is looking to pair with veteran Humphrey and first-round pick Nate Wiggins as their dynamic starting corner trio. It took him till 2023 to really shine and show his worth as a valuable contributor to the Ravens’ secondary.
