San Diego Padres Right Fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. will be activated from the 60-Day IL before tonight's game at home against the Detroit Tigers. He will bat second play right field in his return to the diamond. Tatis Jr. has been sidelined since June 21 with a stress reaction in his right thigh. The San Diego Padres have fared well in the absence of Tatis Jr. They were a .500 team when the perennial all-star went down and now find themselves 17 games above .500.

Before his injury, Tatis Jr. was named a 2024 MLB All-Star and hit .279 with 14 home runs and 36 RBI over 80 games. Will the return of Tatis Jr. help the San Diego Padres finish off the regular season strong and gear up for what the team hopes is a deep playoff run?
