Report: Green Bay Packers Jordan Love Has MCL Injury

The Green Bay Packers and their fans can breathe a sigh of relief. After Jordan Love was injured in Friday night’s game, the result did not matter. Everyone wanted to know the severity of Love’s injury. Reports indicate that it is an MCL sprain, and the quarterback is slated to miss some time.

The Green Bay Packers will take missing some time versus missing the entire season. Many feared a dreaded ACL tear when Love went down in the final seconds of their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It was reported this morning that the ACL was intact but further testing was needed to determine the severity.

Now, it seems it is simply a sprain. While these injuries are tricky to manage, the newly paid quarterback will see the field again this season. He will undergo further testing to confirm the injury. There is currently no timetable for his return, but it will likely take multiple weeks.

Season Outlook

The Green Bay Packers season outlook changes drastically depending on how much time Jordan Love misses. However long Love is out, the goal will be to survive and stay in the playoff hunt. Many had them penciled in for a playoff spot, but now that is in jeopardy.

The good news is that the Green Bay Packers have winnable games in September. Given the talent on the roster, games against the Colts, Titans, and Vikings are all winnable. One thing is for sure: They will have to play better than they did last night if they are going to stay in the playoff hunt.

At this point, the Green Bay Packers are happy the injury is minor and will hope to stay in the race for when Jordan Love comes back. It isn’t a lost season, but the road has gotten a lot harder.
