There’s no argument in many folks’ minds that if you want to get some of the best chicken and unmatched customer service, you go to Chick-fil-A. But now, a North Carolina Chick-fil-A requiring adult supervision for teens is ruffling some feathers.

Chick-fil-A Requiring Adult Supervision For Teens

A Chick-fil-A in Belmont, North Carolina, is raising eyebrows with a new policy that requires teens under 18 to have adult supervision during certain hours.

According to WSOC TV, the restaurant, located across from South Point High School, posted a sign on its door stating that patrons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult between 6:30-8:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:00 p.m.

This policy stems from the restaurant becoming a popular gathering spot for students waiting for their parents after school. Unfortunately, the influx of unsupervised teens has led to issues like vandalism, fights, and other disruptive behaviors, which has prompted nearby businesses to consider similar measures.

While the rule doesn’t apply to all teens—many of whom are well-behaved—it’s clear that the actions of a few have led to this stricter regulation. The policy is a response to the challenges businesses face in managing large groups of unsupervised teens, which isn't their responsibility.

Though understandable, this policy does raise some concerns. How will it be enforced? Will employees have to check IDs, and could this lead to confusion or unfair treatment? It’s unfortunate that responsible teens might be inconvenienced by this rule, especially those who simply want to grab a quick snack after school.

Ultimately, while the frustration of the business is valid, this new policy might complicate things for teens who just want some Chick-fil-A nuggets on their way home.
