    West Virginia Couple Killed in Tragic Single-Vehicle Accident

    GORE, Va. – Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of a husband and wife.

    According to an emailed media release from VSP Sergeant Brent W. Coffey, the incident occurred Friday, August 2 on Carpers Pike in Frederick County.

    At 6 p.m., a 2002 Ford Econoline was traveling south when it ran off the right side of the roadway and collided with a tree near Owl Lane.

    The driver, Randy Howard Malick, 58, of Charles Town, WV died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

    His passenger, Frances Ann Malick, 57, also died at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.

    Gore, Virginia is located approximately 12 miles northwest of Winchester.

    The crash remains under investigation.
