FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – A Stafford man is behind bars after stealing a vehicle from his employer and racking up his fourth DUI offense in 10 years.

According to a media release from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the incident occurred August 25, 2024.

At 11:54 p.m., a SCSO deputy responded to the Auto Chiefs used car dealership on Tyler Von Way for a report of a stolen vehicle.

The caller advised that an employee, identified as Tyler Allen Bober, took a Cadillac that belonged to the business. It was further advised that Bober was intoxicated.

The responding deputy took the initial report and broadcasted the stolen vehicle’s description to nearby units. Approximately 15 minutes later, an SCSO sergeant observed the stolen vehicle at a residence in the 1000 block of Richmond Highway.

The sergeant made contact with the driver, 39-year-old Bober, who displayed signs of intoxication. It was discovered his license was revoked due to a prior DUI incident – one of three in the past ten years.

Bober was charged with driving under the influence, fourth offense, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving while revoked, and second offense refusal of a blood/breath test.

He is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. According to online court records, he is due to appear in Stafford General District Court on October 3.
