Tragedy in Luray; child dead after possible drowning
PAGE COUNTY, Va. — On August 22, the body of a missing 5-year-old boy was found after a frantic multi-agency search. Around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Page County Emergency Communications dispatchers received reports of a missing child in the area of Government Pond in Luray. The pond is located near Page Valley Estates, just west of the town.
Four arrested in major Page County drug bust; $18k in narcotics seized
PAGE COUNTY, Va. – The Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) recently executed a search warrant that led to the arrests of four individuals. The case was initiated by the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force South End Team. The search was conducted at 570 Jollett Road, in Elkton (Page County) on August 17.
North Carolina man arrested in Virginia after shooting multiple rounds into occupied vehicle
HARRISONBURG, Va. – The City of Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) has made an arrest following a Sunday evening shooting near East Market Street. Timothy Leach, 43, of North Carolina, was arrested on Tuesday, August 22. He is charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
High-Tech Chase: Drone and K-9 lead to arrest in Fauquier County domestic assault case
FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. – On August 22, 2023, at approximately 12:48 a.m, Fauquier County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) deputies were dispatched to an address on Willow Drive in Bealton regarding a domestic disturbance. A third-party caller reported that a female had been physically assaulted by a male at the residence.
Edinburg man charged in head-on collision
SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have charged an Edinburg man in connection with a two-vehicle crash that happened Monday morning. According to information provided by Virginia State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey, Public Information Officer for the Virginia State Police Culpeper Division, the crash occurred on Back Road (Va. 623) approximately three-tenths of a mile north of Coffmantown Road (Va. 680), in Woodstock.
Driver kills pedestrian and then flees the scene
Virginia State Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a vehicle that struck a pedestrian early Tuesday. At 5:44 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling westbound on I-66 near Exit 6 in Warren County when the driver encountered a pedestrian lying in the roadway.
Weekend crash kills three; all victims under the age of 24
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. – State police are still investigating a two-vehicle crash that left three people dead and one person badly injured this past weekend. The August 19 crash happened at about 2:10 a.m. on I-95 South, at the 88-mile marker, between Lewistown and Sliding Hill Roads, in Hanover.

Virginia man killed in crash just minutes from home; New York driver charged
STEPHENSON, Va. – Charges have been filed against a New York state man involved in a fatal Berryville Pike crash. According to a media release issued by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), a deputy was on his way to work just before 10 p.m. on July 20. Near Burnt Factory Road, he was passed by a 2008 Toyota Corolla traveling at a high rate of speed. As the deputy attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the Corolla was observed weaving in and out of traffic and running the red light at Woods Mill, where it t-boned a 2015 Honda Accord attempting to cross from eastbound Route 7 onto Woods Mill.
