🚧 Update: Road Construction Along LA-1019 in Watson, LA, with Lane Closures

Starting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 7:00 AM, until Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 6:00 PM, travelers on LA-1019 in both directions, from LA-447 to LA-16 northbound, will experience lane closures due to road construction. This update serves to inform the public about daily alternating lane closures scheduled from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM to accommodate paving operations along the roadway, shoulders, and driveways. Motorists should note that partial closures will be in effect, but at least one lane will remain open throughout the construction period to ensure continuous traffic flow. The construction work is weather permitting and is part of Project H.014784.For those seeking to avoid the construction zone, there are proposed alternate routes. Westbound travelers can take LA 1019 West to LA 16 South, then LA 1024 East to LA 447 North, and back to LA 1019. Eastbound motorists may follow LA 1019 East to LA 447 South, then LA 1024 West to LA 16 North, and return to LA 1019.The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is working to improve travel conditions and urges all motorists to drive cautiously, abide by the work zone signage, and be vigilant of work crews and equipment.
